Title: | The Thermodesorption Kinetics of Water from Mordenite | Authors: | Dondur, Vera Dimitrijevic, R. |
Issue Date: | 1-Jan-1985 | Journal: | Studies in Surface Science and Catalysis | Abstract: | The kinetics of water desorption from various cationic and dealuminated forms of mordenite was investigated. It was determined that desorption kinetics in the lower temperature range, below 600 K, depends on the degree of mordenite dealumination and decationization. The dependence of the desorption process activation energy upon degree of coverage was calculated. In the range of higher degrees of coverage the activation energy is near the heat of water adsorption. By decreasing the degree of coverage the activation energy increases sharply by θ < 0.2, which is ascribed to the associative process of water formation, dehydroxylation. The kinetics of the high-temperature dehydroxylation process was also discussed. © 1985, Elsevier Science & Technology. All rights reserved. |
