A general solution to the steady-state equations for the kinetics of homogeneous nucleation is determined, in agreement with irreversible thermodynamics. Most of the steady-state distributions of clusters present a minimum. Our theory provides a conjecture for understanding the apparent contradictions existing in the present experimental data. © 1980.en_US
