dc.description.abstractA solid phase microextraction (SPME) method for simultaneous determination of 20 pesticides belonging to various pesticide groups in soil samples was developed. Extraction conditions, such as fbre type, desorption temperature and time, extraction time and NaCl content were investigated. Detection and quantifcation were done by gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS). The results indicate that most of the studied pesticides were more strongly sorbed by soil that has higher organic matter and/or clay content. Relative standard deviation (RSD) values for multiple analysis of soil samples fortifed at 30 μg kg-1 of each pesticide were below 19%. Limits of detection (LOD) for all the compounds studied were less than 5 μg kg-1. © 2010 Sociedade Brasileira de Química.en
